Which Section to Attempt First?

You should first start that section with which you are most comfortable. However, if you are not fond of any particular section you should Attempt the paper in the following sequence-

1. Section A

Reading section should be attempted first because this is most scoring section. However, because of unseen passages, you may find it time consuming if your vocabulary is limited.

2. Section B

After reading section, students are advised to attempt the writing section that requires lot of thought process.

3. Section C

It is suggested to be attempted in the end because students are mostly familiar with this section and have read the books thoroughly. However, if you have not gone through your literature books 4-5 times, and have read only for the exam point of view, you can attempt this section in the beginning.

Good presentation, neat and clear handwriting and writing within the word limits always help in time management and score the best. Knowledge of the marking scheme for all questions will also help in handling of the questions in a better way. Adhering to the word limit is very important because writing more will waste your time and will also lead to low score.

Study TIPS to Score Best in Reading Section

Knowing about current and trendy topics will be an additional advantage. Therefore, reading any good literature, your text books, newspapers and editorials is recommended. Read as much as you can. Read on different topics from philosophy to science to fiction. This will help you with the unseen passages and also enhance your vocabulary.

You should read the questions before reading the passage because this will help you to find the answers more easily and quickly. You should solve 5 - 10 previous years’ papers available on the CBSE site or in Moducation App.

Read through the given passages thoroughly and try to comprehend the meaning.

How to Score Well in Writing and Grammar Section?

For the note making question, follow the format, chose proper headings, subheadings, points and sub-points. Invention of new abbreviations is strictly prohibited but you can use familiar ones. You should use nearly 4 abbreviations. The summary should be precisely written having the gist of the actual passage within the given word limits.
