CBSE Improvement exam rule change for JEE Main 2018 aspirants

1. Change in applicability of improved marks.

CBSE Improvement Exam is a way to improve your class 12th result by giving the board exam again next year. You can give cbse improvement exam for one subject or all five subjects. Your improved score will be considered for JEE Main 2018 even if you have appeared for improvement in 1 or 2 subjects.

This is a big relief for those who were unable to score 75% marks in 12th board exams because minimum 75% was the requirement for admission through JEE Main exam. Earlier, they used to consider improved marks for Joint engineering entrance examination only if candidate has appeared in all 5 subjects.

2. Eligibility of State Quota rule.

If a student has passed class XII from state A and appear in state B for improvement in XII board exam, his home state will be still considered state A for admission based on state quota through JEE Main.

How to get CBSE improvement exam forms?

The online application forms for CBSE improvement exam, are available on CBSE website. Eligibility, Fee, detailed procedure of submitting online application is described CBSE official website www.cbse.gov.in

Therefore, the candidates of 2016/2017 desiring to appear in the Improvement examination may apply for one or more subjects in which he/she had appeared in Main Examination of class 12th in 2016/2017.
