JEE Advanced 2018 Information Brochure Released by IIT Kanpur

 

Information Brochure for JEE Advanced 2018 launched by IIT Kanpur yesterday i.e. 26th January 2018. You can visit the official website to download the JEE Advanced 2018 Information Brochure.

 

JEE Advanced 2018

The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2018 will be conducted by the IITs . The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs. The decisions of the JAB 2018 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2018 and admission to IITs.

 

JEE Advanced 2018 Supernumerary seats for female candidates

IIT Council has decided to improve the gender balance in the undergraduate programs at the IITs from the current 8% to 14% in 2018-19 by creating supernumerary seats specifically for girl candidates. However, this will not reduce number of seats for boys as compared to JEE Advanced 2017.

As directed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, supernumerary seats will be created and offered to female candidates for improving the gender ratio in the undergraduate courses in IITs. These supernumerary seats will be offered to only girl candidates solely on the basis of performance in JEE (Advanced) - 2018. The reservation policy as per Government of India norms will be applicable to supernumerary seats also.

 

JEE Advanced 2018 Registration Portal:

Candidates can register for appearing in JEE (Advanced) 2018 only through the online registration portal where all required instructions for registration will be provided. Online registration will begin on 2nd May, 2018 on official website www.jeeadv.ac.in Last date for online registration is May 7, 2018 till 5:00 PM.

 

JEE Advanced 2018 Online Registration in 3 Basic Steps:

Step-1: Login to the official website and provide the basic data and the choices of the cities for the examination.

Step-2: Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents

Step-3: Pay registration fee  

Please Note that Registration fee is NEITHER refundable NOR transferable.

 

JEE Advanced 2018 Registration Fee

Female Candidates (all categories) = INR 1300 SC,

ST, PwD Candidates = INR 1300

All Other Candidates = INR 2600

Candidates from SAARC countries = USD 160

Candidates from Non-SAARC countries = USD 300

The registration fee mentioned above DOES NOT INCLUDE any service charges, processing fees and other charges that may be levied by the payment gateway/banks.

 

JEE Advanced 2018 ADMIT CARD

Candidates who successfully registered for JEE (Advanced) 2018 can download the admit card between May 14, 2018, 10:00 IST to Sunday, May 20, 2018, 09:00 IST from the JEE Official website: www.jeeadv.ac.in

 

JEE Advanced 2018 Exam Pattern

JEE Advanced 2018 Exam will consist of 2 papers of three hours each. Each question paper will be further divided into three separate sections (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

The question papers will be of objective type (multiple choice and/or numerical answer type) only but will be designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

There will be negative marks for incorrect answers of some of the questions. Details of the marking scheme will be available in the “Instructions to Candidates” section at the time of actual examination.

Moducation Team has advised the candidates to read instructions carefully and attempt the questions carefully.

The question papers will be in English and Hindi languages.

 

JEE Advanced 2018 MODE OF EXAMINATION

As notified earlier, the JEE (Advanced) 2018 examination will be conducted only in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Each candidate will be allotted a computer terminal (node) at the allotted test centre based on registration form.

The welcome login screen for the computer based test will display photograph of the candidate.

Candidate can login, by entering his/her JEE (Advanced) 2018 roll number as login-id and date of birth as password.

After login, the candidate would be able to see the detailed instructions for the examination. Candidates are advised to read all the instructions very carefully particularly marking scheme for each type of questions.

The keyboard attached to the computer, if any, will be disabled during the entire duration of the examination.

Depending on the type of question, the answers to questions can be selected or typed by clicking on the virtual keyboard using the computer mouse or by clicking the chosen option(s) using the computer mouse.

Candidates will have the option to change/modify answers already entered anytime during the entire duration of the examination.

If the computer/mouse allotted to a candidate malfunctions anytime during the test, he/she will be immediately provided another computer system and the time lost in the process will be adjusted in the server so that the candidate gets full allotted time of 3 hours (180 minutes) to answer the questions in each paper.
