Important Instructions for JEE Main Exam Day - Reporting Time, Prohibited Items And Dress Code for JEE Main Examination By NTA

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION FOR JEE MAIN EXAM

 

Material that MUST be brought on the day of JEE Main examination at the test centre

(i) Print copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA’s website.

(ii) One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the specified space in the attendance sheet at Centre during JEE (Main) Examination.

(iii) Any one of the authorized photo IDs issued by the government (must be original, valid and non-expired) – PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ Aadhaar Enrolment No/ Ration Card. No candidate will be allowed to enter examination center without photo identity card.

(iv) PWD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category.

 

Reporting Time for JEE Main Exam

(i) The candidates shall report at the allotted JEE Main Examination Centre two hours before the commencement of the examination so as to complete the frisking and registration formalities well before the time.

(ii) Registration desk will be closed 60 minutes prior to the examination.

(iii) Candidates shall not be permitted to enter in the Examination Center after 8:30 a.m. in first shift and after 1:30 p.m. in second shift. 

 

Items You Can / Cannot Carry in JEE Main Exam Centre

(i) Candidates will NOT be allowed to carry any personal belongings including electronic devices, mobile phone and other materials listed in the Information Bulletin, to the Examination Centre. Examination Officials will not be responsible for any belongings stolen or lost at the premises. Pen/ Pencil and blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room. Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of the sheet. Candidates must return the admid card, rough work sheets and pen/pencil to the Invigilator, before leaving the examination Hall/Room.

(ii) Candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables and Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, Blue-tooth devices, pager or any other electronic gadget/ device etc. If any candidate is in possession of any of the above item, his/ her candidature will be treated as unfair means and lead to cancellation of the current examination & also debar the candidate for future examination(s) & the material will be seized.

(iii) Instrument/Geometry/Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, Any kind of Paper/ Stationery, Eatables/snacks and Tea/coffee/cold drinks/Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/Microphone/Pager, Calculator, Camera, Tape Recorder, any metallic item or electronic gadgets etc. are NOT allowed in the examination Room/Hall.

(iv) There is no need to wear watch as the computer will have timer set on the screen whereby students can see the time left for exam to end.

For Aptitude Test Paper-2, the candidate must bring their own Geometry Box Set, Pencils, Erasers and Colour pencils or Crayons. The Candidates are NOT allowed to use water colour on Drawing Sheet.

 

JEE Main Exam Instructions

The candidates are advised to read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination.

To understand how the exam will run please go through the entire explanation given in Information Bulletin from page no. 50 to 56

Candidates must enter required details in the Attendance Sheet in legible handwriting, put their signature and paste the Photograph at the appropriate place. They should ensure that their Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged.

 

JEE Main Exam Dress Code

Wear half sleeve shirt or T-shirt with full pant having minimum pockets. Avoid wearing shoes. It will be better to wear floaters/sandals. Candidates are advised to wear cloths having no metallic parts. Any kind of jewellery like chains, rings, ear-rings, ear-pins etc. and hairbands, hairclips are prohibited.
