NEET Correction in Application Form |Steps For NEET Application Form Correction

 

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, popularly known as NEET, is a national level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi for admission to MBBS and BDS courses offered by various government and non-government medical and dental colleges in India. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is being conducted this year by the Central Board of Secondary Education in only one phase and application process for the same could be filled online between 8th Feb 2018 and 9th March 2018.

If you have already filled the NEET application form and done any mistake, you will have to do correction in the NEET application form. If you failed to do correction in NEET application form, your form may be rejected and you may not be able to appear in NEET 2018. Therefore, it is very important for you to know the NEET Application Form Correction procedure step by step as well as the dates when NEET Application form correction will be started.

We are therefore, providing all the information about correction in NEET Application forms.

 

NEET Form Correction Date

 

NEET Application form correction will start after the last date of NEET application submission date. CBSE has declared that any correction in NEET Application form can be done from 12th March 2018 to 16th March 2018.

 

Who Can Do Correction in NEET 2018 Application Form?

Anybody can do the correction in NEET 2018 application form that has been submitted. However, it can be corrected only between 12 March 2018 and 16 March 2018. To make any correction in your NEET application form you will have to login to the official website. To prevent unauthorised access, login will require your registration number and password. Before knowing the steps to do correction in Application Form, you must know that this correction facility will be open only for 1 time. Therefore, you must keep your registration number and password secret.

Moreover, before starting correction in NEET application form you must know everything that you can or cannot; everything that you will need, everything that need correction in your NEET Application.

 

Step to Correct NEET Application Form

NEET application form correction can be done in four simple steps as discussed below:

Step 1 – Visit the official link- http://cbseneet.nic.in/cbseneet/online/CandidateLogin.aspx

Step 2 – Log in with your Registration Number and Password.

Step 3 – After log in, your NEET application form will open on your computer screen. Check for any mistake. If you find any mistake, then enter the correct information.

Step 4 – Check your application forms at least two times before submitting because you will not be able to make any change later on. If everything is fine, submit the corrected application form.

Which Mistakes in NEET Application Form Can Be corrected?

You will be permitted to do correction only in the following data:

Candidates’ Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Category, Disability Status, State Codes of Eligibility, Medium of Question Paper and parents’ name.

Note: After making required correction in NEET 2018 Application, you should take print out of the correction slip and retain it for future reference and record. No correspondence after your submission of corrected form will be entertained by the CBSE in this regard. Any change in your Category may require you to pay additional fee due to different application fee for different category. In this case you must pay the difference (if required) through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking during the given period only. However, if fee for the new selected category is lesser, the difference amount will be credited to your bank amount through which you have earlier paid the fee.

 

NEET Correction in Candidate’s Name and Date of Birth and Gender:

During the correction window, you can change your name, date of birth and gender. Your name should be according to the class 10 board mark sheet. If your name is different on Aadhaar card, you should get it corrected. Aadhaar card Name correction is possible online also.

Candidates who have used IDs other than Aadhaar card (like passport number, ration card number, bank account number, registration number issued by facilitation center) at the time of form filling can change date of birth and gender. You can also update Aadhaar card and the date of birth and gender will be validated based on that. Those who used Aadhaar card at the time of form filling will not be able to change date of birth and gender because that has already been validated from Aadhaar data.

 

NEET Correction in Father's Name:

You should enter your Father’s name as per your class 10 board mark sheet. If your Father’s name is different on Aadhaar card, you do not need to correct it on Aadhaar card. However, if your father’s name on class 10th board mark sheet is different from that in NEET Application form, you must correct it during the NEET form correction period.

NEET Correction in Mother’s Name:

You should enter your Mother’s name as per your class 10 board marksheet. If your Mother’s name is different on Aadhaar card, you do not need to correct it on Aadhaar card. However, if your Mother’s name on class 10th board marksheet is different from that in NEET Application form, you must correct it during the NEET form correction period.

 

NEET Correction in Year of Passing Qualifying Exam:

Year of passing qualifying exam, percentage obtained in qualifying exam can be corrected during NEET 2018 Application Form Correction period.

 

NEET Correction in State Code of Eligibility:

You can change state code of eligibility (State name).

However, the candidates who change their state from any other state to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir or vice versa may also have to submit or change the status of self-declaration submitted by them during form filling.

Candidates who wish to change their state code from Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir will be able to change the state code of eligibility to any other state only if they have obtained the aadhaar number or aadhaar enrolment number because Aadhaar exemption from aadhaar was available to students from these states only.

Note: If you are changing state code of eligibility, you must check state specific rules like the language of question paper, identity type and self-declaration. Candidates changing state will also have to fill up choices of exam centers again. We suggest you to go through the NEET 2018 information bulletin very carefully.

 

NEET Correction in Medium of Question Paper:

All candidates can change language of question paper subject to your selected state. English and hind paper will be available in all states. But question paper in local language will be available only in specific states. Candidates from Tripura can change their language to Bengali but will also have to change the exam centre to Agartala.

 

NEET Correction in Contact Details:

You can change your contact details like correspondence address, phone number and email ID during form correction period.

NEET Correction in Choice of Examination Centre Name:

Only those candidates who had earlier selected Tripura either in their state of eligibility or state of qualifying exam can change centre of exam to Agartala provided they have selected Bengali as medium of question paper. All other candidates cannot change their choice of examination centres.

 

Correction in NEET Application Form in Selected Category

All students who have applied for NEET (UG) 2018 Exam can change their category during form correction period. Any change in your Category may require you to pay additional fee due to different application fee for different category. In this case you must pay the difference (if required) through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking during the given period only. Change in category will be effective only after payment of increased application fee. However, if fee for the new selected category is lesser, the difference amount will be credited to your bank amount through which you have earlier paid the fee.

 

Correction in NEET Application Form in Disability Status

All candidates who have filled application form for NEET (UG) 2018 Exam can change their Disability Status during form correction period. Any change in your Disability Status may require you to pay additional fee due to different application fee for different Disability Status. In this case you must pay the difference (if required) through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking during the given period only. Change in Disability Status will be effective only after payment of increased application fee. However, if fee for the new selected Disability Status is lesser, the difference amount will be credited to your bank amount through which you have earlier paid the fee.

 

Correction in NEET Application Form in Percentage Marks in Qualifying Marks

All candidates who have filled application form for NEET (UG) 2018 Exam can do correction in their percentage marks during the form correction period scheduled between 12th March and 16th March.

 

NEET Form Correction - Candidate Photograph and Signature Images:

Candidates those have uploaded wrong Photograph and / or Signature will be informed by CBSE through an e-mail and SMS. If you feel you have done mistake in uploading Candidate Photograph and Signature Images, you should check your mail or message box. Do not forget to check the spam/junk folder. If you have got any message about error in Candidate Photograph and Signature Images you must upload correct files on the portal in given time frame. However, if you did not get any SMS or mail, your photo and signature have been accepted and you do not need to do anything.
