NEET 2019

This article has been written to give some valuable tips to improve NEET score and rank in remaining 6 moths. 2019 is the first year the National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to be held this NEET test. Till 2018, NEET was held by the Central Board of secondary education (CBSE). If your goal is to get admission in premier Indian institutes that provide MBBS and BDS courses, then you must appear in the National Eligibility Entrance exam (NEET-UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NTA has been authorised to conduct large-scale competitive exams including National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and UGC-NET.

These valuable tips can improve your NEET score and Rank.

A quick outline of the test:

The NEET 2019 will be a three-hour long exam containing 3 sections - Physics, Chemistry and Biology. There will be total 180 questions (90 from Biology and 45 each from Physics and Chemistry). Official syllabus includes the entire of eleventh and twelfth NCERT textbooks for physics, chemistry and biology.

Every correct answer would reward you 4 marks, and each incorrect answer leads to a penalty of 1 mark. There will be no reward and no penalty for unattempt questions. Each question you try or pass will affect your score. Therefore, answer the questions with wisdom, if you are unable to recognize question, obviously don't answer it!

To prepare for NEET, it's not enough to review and solve questions in Physics, Chemistry and Biology alone. To earn a seat in government medical college, you should build a robust preparation strategy. To assist you prepare well, here are some good hacks:

Solve Last 10-12 Year NEET papers

Last 12 Years NEET Papers and Solutions

The wisest required step would be to attempt question papers of the last 10-12 years. No competitive test preparation is complete if you have not attempted past papers.

Last few years papers typically give you best idea of common topics and question patterns. We will recommend to start out by practising the most recent paper and then going backwards (start with the 2018 paper, followed by 2017, 2016 and then on).  NEET (earlier called AIPMT) difficulty level has changed over the years. Latest five years’ papers can provide a smart understanding of what to expect.

Work out your own ‘study plan’

Based on your understanding of the last few years’ papers, you'll be ready to determine the chapters/units from where you will be getting more questions. Confirm that you get your NCERT basic fundamentals right, particularly for those topics from which more questions are expected (Genetics and Evolution in biology; mechanics, Electricity, & Magnetism in physics; Chemical Bonding, States of Matter, Coordination Chemistry, & General organic chemistry, p Block elements in Chemistry). If you're totally ready for these chapters, you stand an opportunity to get higher score.

Make a strategic study plan that can enable you to finish the curriculum well in advance so that you get enough time for proper revision. In NEET exam, negative marking is your single biggest obstruction. You should solely try questions that you are certain about. Difference of few marks can result in a huge difference in ranks in NEET (UG).

NEET Biology Improvement Tips

Tips to Improve score in NEET Biology

Biology is most important factor to score well in NEET because there will be 90 questions (50% of total). Here is best approach to follow when you attempt Biology section:

You recognize the question and know the exact answer. Great! you have got  4 marks to your overall score.

You have no idea about the question – don't attempt it. Answering this question could result in a penalty of 1 mark that could bring down your rank by some hundreds.

You recognize question and have some idea about few options however you aren’t certain – this may be an awfully common state throughout biology multiple choice questions. In such a case, scan the question terribly clearly, and begin by eliminating the foremost unlikely choices among the four, and keep doing this till you're left with one. However, if you're unable to make a decision between 2 choices,  you  have a 50% probability of answering correctly. Either take a decision to answer based on your intuition, or don't try it because the risk is simply not worthwhile.

Exclusive tip: Theoretical topics like Classification, Taxonomy and scientific names of plants and animals must be revised in last week before the exam. This will help you keep these terminologies in your memory and might fetch you additional marks.

Tips to Improve NEET Chemistry Score

Tips to Improve NEET Chemistry

Make sure you prepare Atomic Structure, States of Matter and Thermodynamics well. These topics will not only be asked in chemistry but also in physics. Chemical Bonding, States of Matter, Coordination Chemistry, & General organic chemistry (including isomerism), p Block elements must also be prepared and practised thoroughly.

NEET Physics Improvement Tips

Quick tips to Improve Physics Score

Thermodynamics, Modern physics, mechanics, Electricity and magnetism are worth giving more attention. Gravitation has lot of similarities with atomic physics. Understanding one will help in understanding the other topic. Be careful regarding sign convention of work while attempting any question in physics (also in chemistry) because the sign conventions are different. Build a formula sheet throughout your preparation (better use Moducation App). This might be useful altogether while solving numerical primarily based on formulae in physics as well as physical chemistry.

Some really easy chapters are Semiconductors, Communication Systems. This implies that you simply must go through these because there are certainly some questions each year from these chapters.

NEET Preparation Tips

Tips to Prepare and Improve NEET Marks

Revise the formulae and necessary equations (including named reactions of organic and inorganic chemistry) of a minimum of 2 chapters daily. Remember, there are around thirty chapters in each (total sixty chapters collectively in physics and chemistry) and you have got quite enough time to create an effective study schedule.

NCERT books and Time management is the key to sure shot success in NEET.

Make sure study the NCERT books thoroughly and solve every question given in NCERT book (even if subjective) and exemplar problems. This will empower you in all the fundamental concepts required to excel in NEET.

Follow the elimination technique to reach the correct answer. To manage time, avoid elaborate steps and use shortcuts if you have learnt.

In the case of a match-the-following question, match what you're certain regarding and see if that has already eliminated other options. This will save you a lot of time.

Be thorough with the main points from NCERT books because there will be several questions directly based on theory or the formula.

Time plays an awfully crucial role, each in your preparation and also during the test. Make an effective time table for your preparation and revisions. During the exam, keep track of the time taken to solve questions from each subject. You should finish biology in 70 minutes, chemistry in 50 minutes and 60 minutes should be given to physics.
